Nut milk contains neither cholesterol nor lactose, which makes it perfect for people who are lactose-intolerant and others who wish to avoid dairy products, including vegans. Nut milk is low in fat but high in protein and fiber. It also contains a plethora of vitamins and minerals needed by your body. 

 

Nut Milk Recipes

Brazil Nut Milk

This special milk is full of fiber, selenium, and vitamin E. It’s blood nourishing, immunizing, and body stimulating.

Ingredients:

  • 5 ounces Brazil nuts

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • a pinch of sea salt

  • 2 1/2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Fully cover the Brazil nuts in water and soak for up to 6 hours.

  2. Dry the nuts before you start.

  3. Using fresh water, place all of the ingredients into a blender and blend for 1 minute.

  4. Strain milk through a cheesecloth

Pine Nut Milk

This milk is rich in vitamin A and is also good for your heart. It’s immunizing and fat flushing.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/2 ounces pine nuts

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • 1 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Pine nuts don’t need to be pre-soaked.

  2. Place the ingredients in a blender and blend for 1 minute.

  3. Strain milk through a cheesecloth.

Almond Milk

This milk is great for lowering cholesterol. It is also muscle and bone building and anti-oxidizing.

Ingredients: 

  • 5 ounces almonds

  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil

  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • A pinch of salt

  • 2 1/2 cups water

Instructions: 

  1. Fully cover almonds and soak for 6 to 8 hours.

  2. Drain before using the almonds.

  3. Using fresh water, blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy.

  4. Strain milk through cheesecloth.

Pumpkin Seed Milk

A rich source of zinc, this milk helps you sleep well and enhances your mood. It’s alkalizing and an anti-inflammatory.

Perfect for those who suffer from insomnia like myself. I’ll sometimes use this milk to make a sleepy time milk tea.

Ingredients:

  • 4 1/2 ounces pumpkin seeds

  • 2 dates, pitted

  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • A pinch of salt

  • 2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Blend all the ingredients together.

  2. Strain milk through cheesecloth.

Chocolate Cashew Milk

This is a protein-packed milk and is a great mood enhancer. It’s immunizing, an anti-inflammatory, and blood nourishing. 

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 ounces cashew nuts

  • 1/3 cup cacao or cocoa powder

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil

  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1/2 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt

  • 2 1/2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Fully cover and soak the cashews in water for 30 minutes.

  2. Drain before using.

  3. Using fresh water, blend all the ingredients together on high speed.

  4. Chill before serving.

*If you want this one sweeter, just add agave nectar til you get it how you like it. Cacao and cocoa powder tend to be a little bitter. 

Pecan Milk

This milk contains over 20 essential vitamins and minerals. It’s blood nourishing, digestion enhancing, and brain powering. 

Ingredients: 

  • 4 ounces pecans, toasted

  • 3 dates, pitted

  • 2 tablespoons agave nectar

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

  • 1 1/2 cups water

Instructions:

  1. Fully cover the pecans in water and soak for 6 to 8 hours.

  2. Drain before using.

  3. Using fresh water, place all the ingredients in a blender and blend for 1 minute.

  4. Chill before drinking.
