Turmeric | The Ayurvedic Miracle

Turmeric is the holy-grail, and one of my favorite skin-curing natural herbs.

Turmeric will heal your skin from the inside out. It keeps the level of inflammation in your body low (when consumed) and when used topically it can combat almost any skin ailment you can think of. Below I shared two simple, effective + inexpensive ways to incorporate this herb into your routine.

GLOWY SKIN TURMERIC JUICE

ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS JUICE:

  • 1 pineapple

  • a thumb of turmeric

I recommend you juice an actual turmeric root & not use ground turmeric powder. You can also add a nob of ginger root to this juice if you have any bloating or digestive issues.

Drink in the morning or before bed. Not only will this juice have you looking flawless, it will cleanse & detoxify your liver.

When turmeric is used topically, it reduces redness & inflammation making it perfect for combatting acne-prone skin. It also evens & brightens your complexion, improves skin texture & tone, & continuously works to prevent your skin from future damage. It's an anti-aging, powerful antioxidant.

TURMERIC + HONEY & CINNAMON FACE MASK

This turmeric mask is easy to make and acts as a moisturizer, exfoliator, & reduces redness. It also brightens the skin making it look fresh & clean. With summer coming around the corner this is the perfect mask! Honey is an amazing superfood that seals in moisture and keeps your skin feeling smooth.

  • 1 tsp turmeric

  • 1 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp raw organic honey, I always use manuka honey in my homemade face masks

Mix all the ingredients together until you get a paste like consistency. Apply the mask to a clean face and leave on for 30 minutes. This can get messy so I don’t recommend you wear a shirt that you wouldn’t want to get a lil dirty. Rinse off gently with warm water. Pat your face dry and do whatever else your skincare routine consists of afterwards. This mask can be used often if you have acne prone skin. If you are just doing an upkeep, using this mask twice a month will suffice.
